The Emir of Qatar Issuing the Counter-Terrorism Decree

Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani issued a decree to combat terrorism.

The decree changed a number of provisions of the law on combating terrorism.

The decisions issued this week are related to "terrorists", "crimes", "terrorist acts", "terrorist entities", "freezing of funds" and "financing of terrorism".

Reportedly Al Jazeera, this decree also identifies procedures related to some terrorist activities.

The decree states that individuals and entities accused of terrorist activities have the right to file a lawsuit against them before a court of law.

The move follows an agreement between Qatar and the United States that seeks to curb terrorism financing.

Qatar is the first state in the Gulf region to sign an agreement with the United States in the fight against terrorism.
