Metro Police Unloading China Fraud Syndicate

Two foreigners from China suspected of involvement in criminal acts of fraud and extortion through social media (medsos), secured from Surabaya arrived at Polda Metro Jaya, South Jakarta.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Pol Kombes Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono revealed the second mode of the perpetrator and acted as police, prosecutor or bank officer.

Then the perpetrator told the victim that it was being investigated due to a criminal case. After the victims were frightened, the syndicates asked for some money to send to them.

"The two perpetrators, using the data of bank customers in China and Taiwan, the syndicate contacted the victims, then they disguised as if from law enforcement agencies in Taiwan," Argo told reporters at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters on Sunday (30/7 / 2017).

Argo reveals the alleged perpetrators have been set and deliberately employed by someone. Moreover, they can not speak Indonesian at all.

"So it is impossible for foreigners to know this detail, to rent a house, etc. There must be some help, this is what we are going through," Argo concluded.
