President Joko Widodo strongly condemns Isreal's violence that has left three pilgrims dead and more than 100 injured in the Al-Aqsa Mosque Compound.

"Indonesia strongly condemns, once again, Indonesia strongly condemns the restrictions on worship at Al-Aqsa Mosque Indonesia also strongly condemns the fall of three casualties that I just got information," said President Jokowi at Ahmad Dahlan University, Yogyakarta, Saturday (22/7 ).

Indonesia says President Jokowi rejects all forms of violence and human rights abuses, including the killing of pilgrims who seek to exercise their right to worship in Muslim holy sites of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Indonesian government has urged the UN Security Council to take steps towards Israel. All forms of security breach committed by Israel in Al-Aqsa must be dealt with firmly. Indonesia has also urged members of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to hold an emergency meeting to discuss the situation in the Al-Aqsa compound.

The government wants to remind Israel to not change the status quo in the mosque environment, and Dome of the Rock can still be an accessible sanctuary for all Muslims.

The Indonesian government invites all parties to exercise restraint, so that the situation does not worsen. For many Muslims, especially those from Palestine, access to the neighborhood of Al-Aqsa Mosque has long been difficult due to Israeli policies and actions
