Infrastructure Budget Use Haj funds? Fadli: This can happen riot

Vice Chairman of the House of Representatives (DPR) Fadli Zon criticized the wishes of President Joko Widodo who wants to use the haj funds for infrastructure development of Indonesia.

"I do not think that can be yes," said Fadli at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta yesterday.

According to him, the Haj pilgrimage should be used according to the allocation. Therefore, infrastructure budgets should not use Haj funds. Moreover, if the infrastructure is capital intensive.

Fadli asserted, if the haj funds used for infrastructure could lead to riots.

"Then the funds can not be used by people interested in Hajj, this can happen riot," he said.

Fadli refused any reason including if the haj funds were used for development.

"Loh development of the period of the pilgrimage funds? Seriously. Ask dong to who have the right that is on pilgrims, do not arbitrarily the government uses haj funds for infrastructure, "said the subordinate of Prabowo Subianto in Gerindra Party.

Previously, President Jokowi after inaugurating members of the Supervisory Board and members of the Executive Board of Haj Financial Management (BPKH) at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (26/7), wants the haj funds stored in the government can be invested for infrastructure development.

"So, how the money, this existing fund, can be managed, invested in places that provide good benefits," said Jokowi.
